[ there's something different now. he's less 'fighting to overcome and steal away' and more 'fighting to fucking FIGHT.' he's having a nice time. he may be flirting VERY hard also, inclusive of a pause to tip johann's chin toward him with the tip of his sword. it's very rivalry erotic or whatever. he's a bad man. anyway it's fine. ]

[ johann, for his part, has never actually enjoyed fighting anyone, but this is actually kind of fun? the energy is different. it's not some helpless wide-eyed innocent cowering and waiting for the hammer to literally fall, it's not some brave but frightened rebel calling him a monster.

it's just two dudes, having a duel, nothing weird. he definitely doesn't have a doki at the sword under chin thing definitely not no.

anyway actually fighting an equal makes him not hold back. oh wow. he usually holds back. ]

But like I said, I don't intend on losing!

I don't either.

[ even when he's nursing a broken arm, dierkk doesn't stop. he doesn't stop because this is fun and it's clear johann is having fun too, and even with one arm he's fucking unstoppable. it's kind of wild. he's just real strong.

he fights so long that the sun starts to creep up, which is the cue that makes him finally back off, tucking away his sword and nodding. ]

[ for his part, he’s bleeding pretty significantly from a bunch of sword cuts, including one extremely aesthetic one on the side of his neck, and has at least one big stab wound through his shoulder, but he’s bright eyed and cheery about it. ]

[ grumble take this pitch seriously. he's doing everything one-handed but he's got one of those fancy cloaks he pulls on, doing it up around his throat and over his head, and a large pair of violet pointed shades to cover his eyes too. he cocks his head once. ]

he's back soon. there's a slight unevenness to his gait, but he compensates for it well and his fighting isn't too impaired by it. or it won't be. because first-- ]

[ for his part, johann looks happier than he ever looked while loyalist. he is thriving. he's shirtless because he doesn't know how to sew well enough to take his sign off his shirt so he just took the whole shirt off. what a dork.

anyway.

he BOUNCES to his feet, then tilts to one side, curiously ]

[ he straightens, spine tight and head held high. he's trying not to stare at johann's chest but it's very difficult. he could go for some spades flirting right now actually. ]

[ it's SO hard not to stare at his chest. there's so much of it. also his spine glows which is distracting when it's visible. ]

[ right it's a very pretty spine with a splotchy pattern of bioluminescent blue freckles?? who else has a birthmark like that. nobody. just johann. ]

[ this time he charges in, excited. he does avoid the bad leg but it doesn't slow him down considerably! he's still VERY strong and VERY fun to fight. ]

[ dierkk is still strong. he's still tough to fight. it's still a good time. he still at one point gets johann on his back and straddles him and leans far too close before he has to reel back from whatever counterattack johann has. ]

[ ooh he flushes a little at that one, dark purple (no weird blue splotches show up when he blushes though) before just GRABBING AND LAUNCHING that fish as far as he can, which is pretty far even though dierkk is a pretty big dude.

this time he appears to be trying to maneuver dierkk into position to tackle and pin him, just for a change of pace. maybe not all combat has to be hammer-based!! maybe he can just ROUGHHOUSE. ]

[ he's just off-balance enough that it works and dierkk ends up his back on the ground, staring up at johann. phew. his eyes are such a pretty violet. ]

[ yeah fuck he gets a doki. he tries to keep his entire cool but he has to swallow. just the once. his gills flicker, and so do his face fins. ]

[ he rolls easily off dierkk and goes to pick his hammer back up. oh his back muscles are also very good. ]

[ yeah he goes up on his elbows and just fucking watches him. it's kind of hungry. he wants to drag his claws up and down that back.
